*The term "Deaf" is used as an inclusive term to include Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind and DeafDisabled (D/HH/DB) individuals.

REQUESTING ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DEAF* SERVICES
Interpreter and CART Services
NC State welcomes community members and other visitors to attend, participate and support university programs, activities and events. NC State students, staff and faculty may request an interpreter or Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) services through our form.
This form should also be used for Interpreter/CART Services requests for additional academic course activities beyond regular course meetings, student-centered events or club meetings, etc. Visitors to NC State needing CART services should request them through the event organizer.

On-Campus Resources for Students
- The Student Ombuds assists NC State students in resolving problems related to their university working, learning or living experience. The ombuds also serves as the point of contact for students experiencing food, housing, and/or financial insecurity..
On-Campus Resources for Faculty and Staff
- The Faculty and Staff Ombuds empowers people and the university to reach their full potential; engages with people and the university to help inform critical decisions; helps people build and strengthen relationships across the university; and surveys the university terrain, monitors trends and promotes fair process. The faculty ombuds office is independent, impartial, informal and confidential.
Off-Campus Resources
- The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) – Division of Services for the Deaf* and Hard of Hearing (DSDHH) works to ensure that all Deaf*, Hard of Hearing, or DeafBlind North Carolinians have the ability to communicate their needs and to receive information easily and effectively in all aspects of their lives, especially their health and well-being.
- The National Deaf Center (NDC) on Postsecondary Outcomes aims to close the substantial gaps in education and employment that exist for deaf people in the United States and its territories. The NDC offers online courses, online gaming tools for youth, data reports, research summaries, evidence-based resources and webinars. Additionally, the NDC offers individualized consultation, training, and resources that help community members, organizations, and schools improve outcomes for deaf people in continuing education and training.
