EEO and Hiring Practices
NC State University is an equal opportunity employer. Recruiting, hiring and retaining faculty and staff are critical activities at NC State.
NC State recognizes that the recruitment, hiring and retention of a well qualified workforce are essential to a vibrant and welcoming university community. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, genetic information, status as an individual with a disability, or status as a protected veteran.
Recruitment and Hiring
NC State University’s vision gives us our direction: NC State will be known as a welcoming and supportive community that has a transformative impact on society and advances the greater good. Candidates selected for hire form the foundation and the future of our university. Every job on campus contributes to creating and maintaining an environment in which students and employees can live, learn and work.
The Office of Equal Opportunity provides search committee training designed to assist you and address questions about the search process.
Training
Search committees at NC State have the important responsibility of identifying and recommending talented qualified individuals to join the university community. Search committee training is a tool for members or chairs of a search committee.
The Office of Equal Opportunity offers live and online module training options. Either option enables NC State participants to conduct a lawful and nondiscriminatory search process. Participants who are active in the recruitment process should plan to take the online module once per year and attend a live training session once every three years. Registration for both training opportunities is available in the REPORTER system.
If you have questions about the hiring process or about how to register for a training opportunity, please contact us at equalopportunity@ncsu.edu or 919.513.0574.
