On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, “Hidden No More: STEM Women of Color” will take place from 5:30- 7:30 p.m. in Talley Student Union during Diversity Education Week. Part of a tour that started in 2017 that has been going to universities in North Carolina and sharing the untold stories of women of color in STEM, it is sponsored by the NC Space Grant in Collaboration with the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center.
Speakers include the daughter and daughter-in-law of Dorothy Vaughan, an African American teacher whose mathematical calculations made important contributions to space flight at NASA. She was also the first African American supervisor at NASA.
