The Women’s Center will present the second film screening and discussion of its Intersectional Film Series, The Mask You Live In, about the societal pressures involved in American masculinity, on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Women’s Center in Talley Student Union, Suite 5210. Topics include what masculinity is, what it incorporates and who it excludes. We invite all who are interested in the multidimensional and complex societal norms involved with male masculinity. We will watch the film and host a brief discussion utilizing an intersectional approach to deconstruct the complicated and conflicting nature of masculinity and how society codifies masculinity into perpetuating a binary that is harmful to society as a whole.
