Join the College of Sciences via Zoom for our annual Diversity in STEM event. This year, alumna Andrea Duhon will speak on “Decoding Failure: Math, Love and Overcoming Fear.”
Duhon, a native of Colombia, is an assistant professor of mathematics at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, and the financial controller for solar energy company Enlight.Energy. She is a 2005 graduate of NC State with B.S. degrees in mathematics and mathematics education. She co-founded the university’s first organizations for Latin students. Since graduating, she has stayed involved with her alma mater, co-founding the Latinx Alumni Network and serving as communications chair for the Alumni Association Board of Directors. Duhon holds an M.A. in mathematics education from New York University and a M.Phil. and a Ph.D. in mathematics education from Columbia University.
