Equal Opportunity at NC State
We work to foster a welcoming campus community of students, faculty and staff who value and inspire personal, academic and professional excellence.
The Office of Equal Opportunity is dedicated to creating an NC State experience where every individual, regardless of their beliefs, background, orientation, or ability, feels a sense of belonging within the Wolfpack community. To achieve this vision, we strive to ensure equal opportunity across campus, strengthen relationships among all groups, and foster a welcoming and respectful environment.
The Disability Resource Office is now part of the Office for Equal Opportunity. Students, employees and visitors seeking disability-related accommodations, accessibility support or guidance should begin here. OEO will continue to provide clear processes, responsive support and coordination across campus to help ensure equitable access to NC State programs, services and activities.
Our services include:
– Providing education and outreach to the campus and broader community
– Adhering to strict accountability and compliance standards
– Preparing students, faculty and staff to collaborate at every level – from local to global
Federal Updates
As you have heard, several executive orders have recently been issued by the White House, including some that may have implications related to equal opportunity and affirmative action. We are awaiting guidance from relevant federal and state agencies, the UNC System Office and the Office of State Human Resources. As more detailed information and guidance is available, we will continue to review and address the details and provide the university community with relevant updates. In the meantime, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to our office for guidance and support.
