Making Space: Paisley and Caitlin

Caitlin Conlen and Paisley Smith are collaborators on Feminist Futures, an ongoing project and series of workshops based on the concept of world-building. “World building is a design methodology that is often used to create sci-fi, fiction and fantasy narratives in film, video games and literature,” according to the collaborators’ website. In this talk, Conlen, a graphic designer, and Smith, an artist working in virtual reality technologies, will discuss how they use world-building as a collaborative practice within feminist communities to envision distant feminist futures.
Making Space is a series that aims to confront bias and systemic barriers to inclusion in the STEM fields.
