Imani Reflection and Healing Space

November 12, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

On the seventh day of Kwanzaa, we practice Imani, the principle of faith. This principle is the belief in the spirit as it flows through the creator, family, heritage, leaders, ancestry and yourself. Iman yields hope and lets us know that even in our struggle we can be led to victory, righteousness and freedom.
In partnership with Prevention Services, the Counselor Education Program and the Counseling Center, we will focus on the internal ability of Black folks to heal. During this session, faculty and staff can converse with Domonique Carter and Marc Grimmett about leading with grace. Students will have an opportunity to have a discussion with Angela Gay and Toni Thorpe about how to reconcile internally while creating accountability. We will end with a restorative conversation about what it means to heal within higher education institutions.
