Documentary Screening and Conversation: Mama, Can We Talk?

We will screen a short documentary and engage in a conversation with film producers from the House of Pentacles. Pentacles is a film training program and production company that is designed to launch the careers of young black transgender people (ages 18-35) into the film industry and tell stories woven at the intersection of being black and transgender. Mama, Can We Talk? is a documentary about a black transgender person. Through these screenings and conversations with the film producers, we will engage deeply with Sonya Renee Taylor’s The Body is Not an Apology and its themes around radical self-love, unapologetic action, storytelling and collective compassion.
