Artist Talk: André Leon Gray

October 7, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Raleigh self-trained multidisciplinary artist André Leon Gray will talk about his work and answer questions about individual pieces in crossed kalunga by the stars and other acts of resistance. This exhibition presents work by seven contemporary artists of color in an installation that fills all of the Gregg Museum of Art & Design’s main galleries. Those artists — José Bedia, Athlone Clarke, André Leon Gray, Esmerelda Mila, Rex Miller, Marielle Plaisir and Renée Stout — offer works that communicate their struggles with the complexities of history, geography and personal circumstances. Registration is required, and space is limited.
If you can’t attend the event in person, watch the livestream on the Gregg Museum’s YouTube channel.
