2020 Krispy Kreme Challenge

The annual Krispy Kreme Challenge is a student-organized charity race benefiting the UNC Children’s Hospital. Beginning in 2004 with a mere 12 participants, the race has grown exponentially and has rapidly become one of Raleigh’s most popular traditions. Participants begin the challenge at the Memorial Belltower on the NC State campus. Runners then travel 2.5 miles through historic downtown Raleigh to the Krispy Kreme Doughnuts store at Peace and Person streets, where they attempt to consume one dozen original glazed doughnuts. The hardest part of the challenge awaits them as they run 2.5 miles back to the finish line. All proceeds benefit the UNC Children’s Hospital to provide medical care for children in need from all 100 counties in North Carolina.
