Documentary Film Screening: Signing Black in America

Signing Black in America is the first documentary about the unique dialect of American Sign Language that was developed within historically segregated African American deaf communities. Joseph Hill, co-author of The Hidden Treasure of Black ASL: Its History and Structure, and Jeffery Braden, dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at NC State University, will lead a discussion after the screening.
