A student-centered scholar-practitioner, John Miller IV holds a master’s in higher education and a bachelor’s in psychology with a concentration in arts entrepreneurship, both from NC State. He most recently served as a residence coordinator at Duke University. While at NC State, he served as a graduate assistant in NC State’s Division of Academic and Student Affairs and as an undergraduate student programming assistant at the African American Cultural Center (AACC).

As a professional diversity educator, Miller is dedicated to empowering others to develop their understanding of cultural competency while advocating for the representation and inclusion of minoritized communities within systems of oppression. His life motto is “Adinkrahene. AYA. Sankofa.” (Lead. Endure. Remember.)

In his role as program coordinator, Miller will lead programming initiatives, including planning and executing the AACC signature events, which include Harambee, Kwanzaa, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Campus Commemoration, Blacks in Wax Live Museum and the Ebony Harlem Awards, as well as working with campus and community partners to coordinate programs that bring awareness of and appreciation for African Diasporic culture and history. Miller will also coordinate the AACC Gallery’s exhibitions, lead the AACC’s social media and digital communication efforts, and advise the AYA Ambassadors student group.
