University leaders reaffirmed NC State’s strong support of diversity and inclusion on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Campus Diversity Conversation in Stewart Theatre. Thirteen areas provided updates on the diversity initiatives occurring during the 2016-17 academic year.
Shaw President, Chancellor Illuminate EOI Graduation
The Equal Opportunity Institute, an NC State institution that has provided award-winning diversity and equity education to the community for 17 years, hosted Shaw University President Dr. Tashni-Ann Dubroy as the keynote speaker of its annual graduation celebration on April 27, 2016.
Chancellor Woodson Attends Pow Wow
On April 2, 2016, Native American Student Affairs (NASA) and American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) in conjunction with Multicultural Student Affairs hosted NC State's 26th Annual Pow Wow in Carmichael Gymnasium. The gym was filled with people of different tribes and nations who sang, danced, drummed and reflected on the history of the Indigenous people of North Carolina and acknowledged their present status. The event started at 12:00 p.m. and lasted until 7:00 p.m.
