The Equal Opportunity and Equity (EOE) unit of the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity announces a new online training module for employees. This training is specifically designed for employees who are interested in learning more about the disability accommodation process at NC State. The training is the third and final offering in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) series offered by EOE, following the ADA for Supervisors course, which was updated in December 2021, and the ADA for Event Coordinators course, which was released in January 2022.
The course is self-paced in Moodle. If you are interested in taking the course, sign-up via REPORTER. The course takes approximately 45-minutes to complete.
Over the course of six lessons you will:
- learn the history of the ADA;
- define disability and related terms under the ADA;
- understand the process of requesting a reasonable accommodation at NC State;
- have an overview of the interactive accommodation process; and
- walk through the process.
At the end of each lesson, you will be able to assess your knowledge and understanding of the topics covered. At the end of the course, you will have the opportunity to explore more resources offered by NC State related to the ADA and receive a certificate of completion.
