Hayley Gallagher, business officer for the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity (OIED), provides budgetary oversight for OIED’s state appropriated budgets, discretionary, trust, gift accounts and contracts and grant funding. Prior to coming to OIED, she served as fiscal manager for the William and Ida Friday Institute at NC State University. She has also worked in Research Administration at NC State. In addition, she has over ten years of experience in contracts and grants and nonprofit management.
Gallagher began her professional career in 2002 at Maryland Capital Enterprises, Inc., a nonprofit organization, as their loan/business officer. She later worked in corporate banking as a small business loan officer. Eventually, she re-joined Maryland Capital Enterprises, Inc. as their executive director, responsible for writing grants, fundraising, managing employees, outreach and program and budget development. After managing the nonprofit for seven years, she moved to North Carolina.
With a bachelor’s degree in science with a marketing concentration and a master’s in business administration, both from Salisbury University, Gallagher also completed the Dale Carnegie Program and recently passed the Certified Research Administrators (CRA) exam given by the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) in June 2018. She currently resides in Fuquay Varina with her husband and two children. When she is not working, she enjoys reading, travel and fitness.
