This TIP (\u201cToward Inclusive Practices\u201d) message from the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity provides information about a new online, self-paced course.<\/p>\n

New DEI Course: Applied Cultural Identity<\/h2>\n

To meet the growing interest in\u00a0introductory-level diversity, equity and inclusion\u00a0<\/b>educational opportunities<\/b>, OIED\u2019s Inclusive Excellence and Strategic Practice unit has developed a new online, self-paced course,\u00a0Applied Cultural Identity,\u00a0<\/b>for the NC State campus community.<\/p>\n

The course focuses on building cultural awareness and understanding about how societal influences shape perceptions of ourselves and others. It also explores ways to create an inclusive workplace that promotes a sense of belonging. Applied Cultural Identity is the latest course to be added to the\u00a0Inclusive Excellence Certificate<\/a>\u00a0program; however, there are no restrictions for taking this introductory course, and it is open to anyone in the campus community.<\/p>\n
