DiversityEdu Online Cultural Competence Training
Now open to both faculty and staff, DiversityEdu is an online course focusing on engaging with diversity and growing an inclusive culture. The module defines diversity and engaging with difference and examines assumptions and similarities while exploring the impact of identity terminology such as microaggressions, unconscious bias and myths about merit and fit.
The estimated time to complete the module is 1.5 hours. By registering for this workshop, you are committing to complete this training. You will not have to complete the training at one time, but you will need to complete it within two weeks of your initial entry into the module. We invite you to complete DiversityEdu to enhance your skills in communicating and being a more culturally competent member of the Wolfpack. Free for NC State employees.

Finding Common Ground: From Conflict to Coalition Building (April 9, 1-4 p.m.)
NCBI has developed a model for conflict resolution that teaches participants skills to handle tough interpersonal and intergroup conflicts. This workshop examines controversial issues through a positive process; participants learn to reframe controversial issues into a context where all parties are able to work toward a common solution. Free for NC State community members.
Register in ReporterCultural Intelligence (CQ) Assessment (April 15, 1-4 p.m.)
This half-day opportunity includes an introduction to the cultural intelligence model and research with an emphasis on communication across cultures as it relates to the participants’ roles with NCSU. Participants will be given examples and best practices for using cultural intelligence as part of their role at your organization and will leave with an action plan for improving their cultural intelligence personally and as a team. The content of this workshop is rooted in the research on cultural intelligence and from the successful use of cultural intelligence among leading global organizations. Please note that this workshop has a cost of $100.

Discrimination and Harassment Prevention and Response Training is required for all NC State employees (including student employees), per NC State regulation, REG 04.25.06 – Equal Opportunity, Title IX and Non-Discrimination Training for Employees.
