Misogyny refers to the ways that individuals consciously or unconsciously learn, accept and reinforce ideas and attitudes that perpetuate gender inequity and oppression. These values and learned behaviors are often ingrained into society through laws, policies, practices, cultural norms and personal beliefs.
This workshop will help participants recognize the manifestations of misogyny and how we have been socialized to perpetuate them. Participants will also learn strategies to disrupt and destabilize misogyny in their daily lives, work environments and communities. This two-hour workshop on Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in Talley Student Union, Room 4280, is open to NC State undergraduates, graduate students, staff, faculty and alumni as well as interested members of the local community.
