Equal Opportunity and Equity Appoints Associate Vice Provost

In July, the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity appointed Robinette Kelley as associate vice provost of its Equal Opportunity and Equity unit.

For the past 18 years, Kelley has served as a senior higher education administrator responsible for the areas of AA/EEO, Title IX, ADA, equity, diversity and inclusion. She served as director of the Office of Equal Opportunity at Iowa State University, where she developed and managed AA/EEO and equity compliance programs for the university. Prior to that, she was employed by the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she served as assistant director in the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and had responsibility for equal opportunity programs. Kelley also served as assistant director of employee relations within the office of University Human Resources at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Most recently, she served as president and CEO of Compliance Dynamics Consulting LLC, a diversity, inclusion and equity compliance firm.

Kelley holds an Ed. M. in Higher Education Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a B.S. in Economics and Finance from the State University of New York College at Buffalo. Ms. Kelley is certified as a Title IX coordinator by the Association of Title IX Administrators. In addition, she holds eight other certifications and professional credentials in mediation, Title IX, diversity management, employee relations and human resources. Kelley is completing a Doctor of Philosophy in higher education administration with an emphasis on educational leadership at Iowa State University.

Kelley is a member of the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education (NADOHE), the American Association for Access, Equity and Diversity (AAAED), the Association for Title IX Administrators (ATIXA), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), the New York State Dispute Resolution Association (NYSDRA) and the Buffalo Urban League.
