Andy DeRoin Joins the GLBT Center as Program Coordinator
Andy DeRoin joined the GLBT Center as the new program coordinator on July 7, 2015. In this newly created position, Andy will help launch the Volunteer, Internship and Practicum (VIP) Program to engage students as leaders in initiatives across campus.

GLBT Center Hosts Second Annual Symposium for New Students
On Saturday, August 15, 2015, 86 students participated in the second annual GLBT Symposium. This half-day event is held each fall during move-in weekend as a way for incoming GLBT students to connect with each other, form community, learn about the services and resources offered by the GLBT Center and find out how they can get involved on campus.

Originally from Tallahassee, Florida, Carley Wyche received her undergraduate degree in Anthropology from the University of Florida. Prior to joining the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity, Carley received her Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond School of Law in May 2015.

The Office for Institutional Equity and the Graduate School are pleased to announce a new program for NC State faculty called the Dissertation Mentoring Fellowship (Mentoring to Diversify and Enhance the Professoriate), to start in August 2015.

Chris Genwright, from Mullins, South Carolina, is the new equal opportunity program coordinator in the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity. He comes to us from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a human resources specialist specializing in new employee orientation and reduction in force briefings.
