Making NC State a diverse and welcoming place for all is everyone’s responsibility. For a while now, David Churchill has served this goal through his involvement in several OIED programs and initiatives, all while working as a full-time staff member in other offices on campus. He currently works as a budget consultant in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
Churchill is a National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) facilitator, a panelist for ECD 225 (Foundations in Cultural Competence) and USC 240 (Leadership and Coalition Building for Diverse Communities) and has served as an instructor for USC 100 (Transitioning to a Diverse Community).
He has also participated in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Opening Doors program and the College of Natural Resources Community for Diversity programs.
In 2012, Churchill was awarded the Outstanding Staff Award at the annual Chancellor’s Creating Community Awards for exceptional contributions in the areas of equity, diversity and inclusion. These awards honor students, staff and faculty who are not employed within the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity.
An Equal Opportunity Institute graduate, Churchill was featured in a short video about the program that was shown at EOI Graduation in 2015.
We thank David for his tireless service to diversity and equity at NC State. Find out more about these programs and initiatives to learn how to help make your community a better place today!
