The Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity will lose its first Vice Provost this summer when Joanne Woodard leaves to begin a new position as vice president for diversity and inclusion at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX, in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
Vice Provost Woodard was instrumental in helping to form the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity in 2011 as part of NC State’s strategic realignment, which united Equal Opportunity and Equity with Diversity and Inclusion and four campus community centers: the African American Cultural Center, the GLBT Center, Multicultural Student Affairs and the Women’s Center. Over the past four years, the office has formed synergy around many common purposes and goals relating to diversity and equity.
While we will miss Joanne’s sharp wit, competitive spirit and superhuman memory, we wish her every success in her new position. See the recent Bulletin article for more information.
